House Bill Would Require Legislative Approval for Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Program
WINDHAM - Americans for Prosperity New Hampshire State Director, Corey R. Lewandowski, will testify today in support of HB 1487, which would require legislative approval of New Hampshire’s participation in any Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Program (LCFS). The hearing will take place before the House Science, Technology and Energy Committee at 9:30AM in LOB 304.
"The concept of making something, in this case carbon-intensive fuels, more expensive to raise money for alternative energy projects has been attempted in New Hampshire under the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which has been an utter failure in this state and has only raised the electricity rates of New Hampshire ratepayers,” said Corey Lewandowski, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire. “NH doesn’t need another RGGI. That is why Americans for Prosperity-NH strongly supports HB 1487, requiring legislative approval before New Hampshire can enter into any Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Program.”
HB 1487 would require legislative approval before any funds could be applied or expended involving New Hampshire’s planning, evaluating, implementing, or participating in any state, regional, or national low carbon fuel standards program.
