Crowd Energized at “Already Taxed to the Max Rally”

Americans for Prosperity-Ohio’s (AFP-OH) Already Taxed to the Max Rally sent a message last Saturday that Ohio’s government can’t keep treating Ohio’s citizens like an ATM every time Ohio runs out of cash. Those who attended the rally cheered and applauded the message that Ohio’s taxpayer ATM is closed.

Petitions were circulated to end Ohio’s death tax, and we heard from State Representative John Adams about his bill to phase out Ohio’s income tax. Jason Rink (pictured), Ohio Freedom Alliance and Ohio Liberty Council co-founder, energized the crowd to continue the fight for limited government. Former Congressman Rob Portman told the crowd that we need “to get away from the idea that government knows best, the idea that government can provide for all of us, the idea that we are going be able to have prosperity through borrowing and spending. We'll get prosperity from the HARD WORK and INGENUITY of the American people! We need to UNLEASH and EMPOWER people.”

The Already Taxed the Max Rally kicks off AFP-OH’s focus on Ohio’s budget. With a $4 billion to $9 billion deficit looming in Ohio’s next budget cycle, we have to start putting pressure on Ohio’s government now to become more efficient and effective with the tax dollars we already send them. Raising our taxes again cannot be an option.
