Americans For Prosperity-North Carolina State Director Dallas Woodhouse today commended State Senator Larry Shaw on his years of service to the state after he announced his retirement from the Legislature.

"Senator Shaw stood up for North Carolina's children every time he spoke out in favor of giving them greater education choices through public charter schools. He also embodies the vitrue of civilitiy in public discourse that is increasingly rare in Raleigh today", Woodhouse said.

Shaw has been a consistent advocate for education choice and has regularly sponsored bills in the General Assembly to raise the cap on North Carolina's public charter schools.
