AUSTIN – Peggy Venable, the Texas Director of the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, will present the Defending the American Dream award to State Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Dist. 2) at a special ceremony this evening in Canton.
Rep. Flynn was one of only six State Representatives to earn an “A+” grade on AFPF’s 2009 Legislative Report Card. Legislators who earned the distinction of “Defender of the American Dream” are those who earned a grade of “A” or “A+” for the 81st Legislative Session.
Grades were determined by the legislators’ votes on key issues in line with AFPF’s Defending the American Dream Agenda. AFPF tallied votes on issues ranging from fiscal responsibility and limiting government growth, to appraisal reform.
The Defending the American Dream Award is given to show appreciation to these legislators that have kept taxpayers’ interests mind during the Legislative Session.
