Last night AFP-Oklahoma and UCO College Republicans had the pleasure of hosting this election seasons first debate. Despite the weather, we had a huge turnout--UCO's Constitution Hall was full of eager, curious citizens out to learn about the candidate for the 5th District Congressional race.

The debate kicked off with a short bio speech by the attending candidates, Kevin Calvey, Rick Flanigan, James Lankford,and Dr. Johnny Roy. They each shared about their background, and ambitions for the office of Representative of Oklahoma. Stuart Jolly moderated the formal debate. Questions about healthcare, the governments role in creating jobs, and the war on terror were discussed and debated, among others. Following the formal questions, people in the audience were able to ask questions of the candidates.

The event was exciting because of the huge turnout, over 450 in attendance, and the discussions both during the debate and afterwards as people discussed in detail with the candidates.
