Americans for Prosperity: Clearing the Air of Environment New Jersey’s RGGI Propaganda

BOGOTA, NJ – Americans for Prosperity state director Steve Lonegan has released the following statement blasting Environment New Jersey, a far left environmental group, for spreading falsehoods and propagating the phony, bogus results of an economic analysis of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative cap-and-trade scheme.

“The radical environmental movement, including groups like Environment New Jersey, feed at the trough of cap-and-trade dollars. They are the winners of this massive redistribution of wealth, while consumers and private sector industry are the losers. That’s why will stop at nothing to perpetuate the lies and propaganda pertaining to the RGGI cap-and-trade tax.

“This includes relying on the flimsy, flawed so-called economic analysis of RGGI put forth by the Analysis Group; a one-sided, biased attempt by Obama cronies which claims that RGGI results in mythical economic benefits, defying all common sense and basic laws of economics.

“The fact is, these ‘green investments’, from Solyndra on down, have proven to be nothing but abysmal failures and staggering wastes of millions of taxpayer dollars. This reality flies in the face of the conclusions drawn from the Analysis Group’s sham report.”
