Changing the Nation, One State at a Time
On Wednesday, March 10th, Americans for Prosperity Colorado along with The 9.12 Project Colorado Coalition, Colorado Tenth Amendment Center, Colorado Union of Taxpayers, Campaign for Liberty, District 2 Conservatives, Evergreen/Conifer Tea Party, The Gadsden Society, The Independence Institute, Liberty on the Rocks, Longmont 9.12 Teap Party, Northern Colorado Tea Party, Peoples Press Collective, R Block Party, We the People Congress and the Western Slope Conservative Alliance is hosting Taxpayer Day at the Capitol. This free rally will be held at noon on the West Steps of the Colorado State Capitol, 200 E. Colfax Avenue, Denver.
Some state legislators and Governor Ritter are trying to force tax increases through the legislature, despite our State Constitutional requirement that these tax increases be voted on by the people. The message of smaller government living within its means hasn’t gotten through. While there is a day at the Capitol for every special interest group out there, one interest group – the taxpayer – seems to have been forgotten until now.
To register for this free event, click here. Together we can send a message about smaller government, respect for the taxpayer and voters.
In addition to the free rally, AFP Colorado will be hosting a Grassroots Advocacy Session that same morning. The morning session is a great opportunity and will include a dialogue with House and Senate Leadership, a presentation on how to effectively advocate with your elected officials, a panel discussion on new media and the best grassroots tools, and a panel discussion with conservative grassroots organizations. In addition, those attending the Grassroots Advocacy Session will get a sack lunch to take to the rally.
The Grassroots Advocacy Session begins at 9:00 a.m. (registration starts at 8:00 a.m.) in the Old Supreme Court Chamber in the Capitol. A nominal fee of $15 to cover expenses and lunch will be charged to those attending the Grassroots Advocacy Session. Space is limited for this session so you must register right away by clicking here.
These two events are a great opportunity for you to get involved and to let our elected officials know that you are paying attention and engaged in leaving a better Colorado for your children and grandchildren.
