Changing the Nation, One State at a Time
AFP Oregon State Director Jeff Kropf helped dump tea into the Willamette River this morning, during the Portland gathering of the National Chicago Tea Party. About 100 Oregonians met to protest federal government overspending, borrowing and pork barrel projects contained in the stimulus bill and proposed spending legislation.

"Tea Parties" were organized across the nation today in response to CNBC reporter Rick Santelli's comments regarding the unfairness of asking hard-working Americans to pay other people's mortgages. Santelli's call for a new "Boston Tea Party" in Chicago has ignited and focused opposition to President Obama's fiscal policies.

The Portland event was organized by AFP Multnomah County Chapter Leader Geoff Ludt.
