East Oregon Hungry for AFP Training - And Gets It

AFP Meeting in East OregonAFP Meeting in East Oregon

On a long trip with meetings in Hood River and Wallowa counties, AFP members eager to come to grips with the liberal juggernaut have been hungry for what AFP has to offer. Specifically, they want training that will give them a set of political skills they can use to promote the principles of limited government and free enterprise.

In Hood River County, our group in Cascade locks has been looking at some school choice options, including charter schools, in response to a threatened school closure in their town. If successful, they will be able to operate as a charter school at a fraction of what their traditional school cost, AND they will have more control over their school's curriculum.

In Enterprise, the county seat of Wallowa County, concerns ranged from the federal to local levels. People wondered what their next move would be in response to the left's latest spending spree. All agreed that the next step would be training, and a class of Debate 101 was conducted. Our Wallowa county AFP chapter is lucky to have Susan Roberts among their number, who is a newly elected Wallowa county commissioner.
