Pay your mortgage on time?
Most Americans do.
So why is Washington forcing us to pay people’s mortgages who bought houses they couldn’t afford? Demonstrate your outrage--come to the Atlanta Tea Party, one event in a nationwide protest sparked by CNBC reporter Rick Santelli in Chicago last week. Events are scheduled from DC to LA and from Orlando to Seattle. The Atlanta Tea Party, cosponsored by AFP Georgia and a number of other conservative organizations, will be at the State Capitol this Friday at Noon. RSVP here or and bring your friends and your teabag to send to the White House!
*Take Marta to GSU station or plan $5 per vehicle for parking.
*Bring a picture ID and no weapons (incl. pocketknives) to be allowed in Capitol buildings.
*Bring posters, but stakes and pitchforks aren’t allowed in the Capitol.
*Please let us know if you can be there early to help.
Health Insurance and Hospital Tax
HB 168, the bill that would add fees to your private health insurance and to hospitals, is receiving little support according to a number of sources.
Thanks to our members who contacted the Governor’s office and their legislators.
Cigarette Tax Opposed
AFPGA gave out “No New Taxes” stickers at the House hearing Wednesday on the proposed $1 per pack cigarette tax. State Director Jared Thomas spoke against the bill, pointing out, “Sin taxes make government reliant on behavior for revenues.” Thanks to our members who showed up.
