AFP Grassroots Advocacy Session

Did you ever want to get politically involved on a state level, but just weren’t sure how? Does reaching out to your state representative seem a bit intimidating, but you really want to tell them how you feel about a certain program or bill? Do you wish you had better tools to be a more effective activist for your cause?

Americans for Prosperity Colorado would like to invite you to join us for a Grassroots Advocacy Session at the Colorado State Capitol this coming Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Learn how to get involved in at the legislature so you can have an impact. Join fellow activists for a full morning of intense discussion, network with like-minded individuals and pick up the tools you need to get involved and make a difference. This event will be held before the Taxpayer Day at the Capitol Rally at noon.

The Speaker of the House and President of the Senate have been invited and Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry and Representative Frank McNulty are confirmed. Former Congressman Bob Schaffer will join us to talk about interacting with legislators and getting involved in the process. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with these leaders. You will learn how to best approach your representatives for your cause. You will hear from leading experts on the best tools for grassroots activists and hear from leaders of the growing movement as to how you can get involved and make a difference.

The advocacy sessions will be held at the Old Supreme Court Chambers located on the 2nd floor of the State Capitol. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the sessions begin at 9 a.m. The program will conclude at 11:30 a.m. There is a nominal fee of $15 that includes a brown bag lunch. Please register for this event by clicking here: AFP Advocacy Session. You can pay the registration fee the day of the event but please register by Monday March 8th so we know how many lunches we need to have on hand.
