AFP-Kansas is co-sponsoring the Burton Folsom Luncheon with the Flint Hills Center for Public Policy. The luncheon is at noon Thursday, March 26 at the Wichita Country Club (8501 East 13th Street). Cost is $25 per person or $185 per table of eight. Contact the Flint Hills Center at www.flinthills.org by Tuesday, March 24 to reserve a table.
Folsom has written several books, including most recently "New Deal or Raw Deal? FDR’s Economic Legacy for America" (Thresshold Editions, 2008), and "The Myth of the Robber Barons: The Rise of Big Business in America." He is a senior fellow with the Mackinac Center for Public Policy as well as the Foundation for Economic Education.
Additionally, several local AFP-Kansas chapters are planning meetings in the next few weeks.
The Topeka Chapter will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 at the Topeka AFP Office (2348 SW Topeka Blvd., Ste. 201). The speaker will be Jim Churchman, who sits on the Board of Education for Olathe School District. RSVP to psetchell@afphq.org.
The Linn County Chapter meets at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Bunker Hill Community Center (6th and Main) in Mound City. The meeting will feature Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (Kansas 2nd District), Flint Hills Public Policy Center President David Trabert, accountant and AFP Commonsense Budget Proposal author Steven Anderson, AFP-Kansas state director Derrick Sontag and AFP-Kansas field director Jim Mullins.
