It’s been a long, hard-fought battle to protect our freedoms and our economy from the threat of government-run health care. Against all odds, because of your hard work, we are within sight of winning this battle!

Nebraskans continue to do their part to stop the federal government from running our health care system. Yesterday afternoon marked the 26th week in a row that free-market activists protested against the health care bill, and Sen. Nelson’s support of the bad bill, outside Sen. Nelson’s office in Omaha.

To keep the pressure on our elected officials to promote reasonable, limited government, we need your help! There are a number of upcoming events across the state that are great ways for you to make your voice heard!

AFP-Nebraska is hosting events across the state the next few weeks. We will be in Omaha, North Platte, Lincoln, Sidney and Scottsbluff and we hope you can join us for any of the following events:

OMAHA

• Weekly protests every Tuesday afternoon from 11:30am to 12:30pm outside Sen. Nelson’s office. The address is 11819 Miracle Hills Drive (here’s a map)

• March 20 th – Grassroots training with American Majority. Check out the website for more information.

LINCOLN

• Taxpayer Day at the Capitol on March 24 th. This FREE EVENT will provide you the opportunity to hear a legislative update on the important issues of the Legislature, meet with your state senator and take part in a discussion with elected leaders, where you can get answers to your questions. Starts at 10am in the Capitol Cafeteria on the first floor, south side of the capitol.

NORTH PLATTE

• Free grassroots training – Friday afternoon, March 19 th at the North Platte Public Library. From 12noon to 1pm.

An excellent opportunity for activists to learn how to effectively build coalitions, write letters to elected officials and the media, use new media and engaging friends, family and neighbors on political issues.

SIDNEY

• Free grassroots training – Thursday evening, March 18 th from 6:00 to 7:00pm at the Cheyenne County Community Center located at 627 Toledo Street in Sidney. Click here for Google Map

SCOTTSBLUFF

• Free grassroots training – Thursday afternoon, March 18 th from 12noon to 1:00pm at the Western Nebraska Regional Airport Lounge located at 250023 Airport Terminal Road. Click here for Google Map

And as you may suspect, there will be events protesting the ever-growing size of government spending at Tax Day rallies across the state on April 15th. More information will be coming soon about those events.
