Speaker Nancy Pelosi is putting the full-court press on Congressman Heath Shuler. She even brought some people to Washington, DC from the 11 th Congressional District to pressure him to change his vote to YES on the health care bill.

Congressman Shuler has been strong on this issue. Americans for Prosperity members have appreciated his dependable NO vote on so-called health care reform.

But the pressure from Speaker Pelosi and the President is tremendous.

Don’t let the big spenders be the last voices Congressman Shuler hears before he votes this weekend. He needs to hear from constituents in the 11th District that a vote NO is a vote against a disastrous bill that will raise taxes, cost jobs and destroy the best health care system in the world.

We must leave as promptly as possible Saturday morning—don’t get left behind. You will need to bring food and drinks for the ride to DC because a lengthy luncheon stop is not possible—small coolers are ok. There is a bathroom on each of our chartered buses. We will also make restroom stops. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and walking shoes. It is necessary to walk several blocks. Hand-made signs are encouraged for the rally but keep in mind they may be lost if you go into any of the buildings. Bring some cash for a fast food dinner on the way home. You will get back to your car early Sunday morning.
