Americans for Prosperity is providing this detailed analysis done by members of the Illinois General Assembly of the Governor’s budget proposal so that the taxpayers of Illinois will have a clearer perspective of what will be debated in Springfield in the coming months. 

Governor Quinn provided much hope in his proposed reform agenda. Americans for prosperity looks forward to working with the governor to enact some of these much needed reforms. However, the governor failed to address how he will reform the states antiquated budgeting process. There should be no rush to pass a tax and spend budget until a process is in place that provides a review of how every tax dollar is being spent and to justify those expenditures in a transparent forum.

Please remember, when government over steps its bounds it's up to citizens to bring it back into line. It's time to stand up and have your voices heard!
