Following up on AFP members' victory in a federal court land-use case, the Jackson County Chapter of Americans for Prosperity is preparing to launch two important ballot measures.
The first measure will express the sense of the voters that land-use decisions should be made locally rather than on a statewide basis, and that Jackson County should actively seek support of this position from other Oregon counties.
The second measure would require the County to honor the agreements it made with landowners under Measure 37, and to refrain from pursuing actions to the contrary.
The group is aiming to collect about 4,600 signatures from registered Jackson County voters for each measure. Both measures have received valid ballot titles from the County.
