Card Check stalls in Congress

We finally have some good news to come out of Congress as the Card Check bill in the U.S. Senate has hit a wall. After Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) announced he would not be supporting the bill in it's current form, Senate Democrats came to the realization that they probably do not have the votes to pass it. This is great news for small businesses in Maryland and supporters of the free market around the country. As stated in previous posts, AFP-Maryland is opposed to this terrible bill. Besides taking away the right to a secret ballot, Card Check also places collective bargaining power squarely into the hands of Union-friendly bureaucrats. The success of this bill would ultimately result in widespread bankruptcies of small businesses and higher prices for goods and services.
