Americans for Prosperity- Wisconsin to Host Tea Party- Taxpayer Rally, April 15

Activists across the state descend upon the Capital to protest wasteful spending

MILWAUKEE – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin is hosting the Tea Party – Taxpayer Rally in Madison April 15th on the steps of the Wisconsin State Capitol to protest out-of-control spending in government at the state and national level.

“We’re focused here in Wisconsin on getting members of our state legislature to take positive actions to reduce government spending and stop driving our economy deeper into recession,” said AFP-Wisconsin State Director Mark Block. “Wisconsinites agree that government spending has gotten out of control, and if our legislators don’t believe me, they can see for themselves on April 15th.”

Attendees will spend an hour after the rally--which is part of a larger nation-wide event-- speaking with their legislators about the issues they are most concerned about.

“Wisconsin is going to raise its voice, in conjunction with over 1,000 other rallies across the nation, and say no to new taxes, no to more spending, and no to Governor Doyle’s deficit” said Block. “We’re fighting to take back our government out of the hands of Big Government bureaucrats, and back into the hands of the taxpayers of Wisconsin, where it belongs.”

This rally comes on the heels of the Defending the American Dream Summit held by Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin in Milwaukee last month, where over 800 people attended to discuss the economic future of the Badger State.
