RALEIGH –Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina (AFP-NC) today launched a radio ad blitz urging citizens to contact their state legislators and tell them to oppose the one billion dollar tax increases proposal offered by the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Airing in the Triangle and across eastern North Carolina the ad states that Governor Perdue and the General Assembly are breaking their promise not to raise taxes during the worst recession since the Great Depression.

“We can’t tax and spend our way to prosperity,” said Dallas Woodhouse, AFP North Carolina Director. “We are encouraging our members, and anyone who is concerned with the possibility of a one billion dollar tax increase to contact their state legislators and urge state politicians to put the family budget ahead of the state budget"

The radio ad also drives listeners to www.NoNCtaxhike.com, an AFP-sponsored website that serves as the foundation of an aggressive grassroots effort against tax increases in North Carolina.

By visiting the website, online activists can write and send a letter to Governor Perdue and their elected representatives.

“The state government is pushing higher taxes on everything we buy, and possibly everything we earn,” said Woodhouse. “North Carolina taxpayers cannot afford additional taxes on car and home repairs, clothes, and more. We have to put our foot down now and say, “Enough is enough!”
