Americans for Prosperity took its message to the states and continued its re-launch of the Hot Air Tour in Erie, Pennsylvania on April 30. A crowd of citizen-activists gathered at First Family Sports Park to hear about the biggest tax hike in the nation’s history hidden inside cap and trade legislation proposed by President Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

AFP President Tim Phillips spoke to citizens about the costs of Hot Air in the debate: fewer jobs, less freedom, and ballooning energy prices. These citizen activists took a stand against a future where gas tops $8.00 per gallon, electricity bills double, and a government that controls your home thermostat remotely.

Citizens pulled out their cell phones at the event and called the district office for Senator Arlen Specter, urging him to vote NO on this job-killing bill. It's time we take a stand and engage in a public policy debate before it’s too late. Americans for Prosperity’s Hot Air Tour is the start of sending a powerful message to governments at all levels that they cannot fund their out of control spending with taxpayer dollars without hearing from the American people first.
