Changing the Nation, One State at a Time
When Governor Christie ran for office last year he promised the citizens of New Jersey that he would “gut” COAH, the state’s taxpayer subsidized low-income housing bureaucracy.
Now, the governor is one step away from breaking that promise by signing into law Bill S1 that would do nothing to end this scheme. Senate Bill S1 is a hoax that would simply transfer all authority to the State Planning Commission.
COAH by any other name still means that you and I will be forced to pay for housing that others should pay for themselves. As we have seen by the failures of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, this kind of government intervention in the housing market can have devastating consequences to our economy and we must do all we can to stop it.
Last week the Senate passed S1 and the bill is up for a vote this Thursday, June 17th, in the Assembly.
It is time to end the COAH affordable housing scheme and for the governor to keep his promise to New Jersey taxpayers.
Contact your Assemblymen/women now and tell them to vote “NO” on Bill S1!
Call the governor at 609-292-6000 and tell him to veto this bill!
