The 3rd leg of AFP's national "Hot Air Tour" ended with a bang in Omaha, Nebraska last evening. We had well over 220 activists join us at Levi Carter Park on a hot, humid night.

In what has become our tradition, dozens-upon-dozens of folks used their cell phones to call Senator Ben Nelson from our rally to urge a NO vote on the job killing tax increase known as Cap-and-Trade. And, just about every single adult at our event signed a personalized petition to Senator Nelson. Our goal is to deliver at least 10,000 petitions to Senator Nelson on the day after Labor Day, just before the crucial vote in Senate.

More than ever before, this 3rd leg of our "Hot Air Tour" tour convinced me that we will defeat Cap-and-Trade if we relentlessly tell the truth about this destructive, freedom crushing legislation. The crowds were huge. The energy was electric. The commitment to defeating this legislation was complete.

President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and their friends cannot be allowed to kill hundreds-of-thousands of jobs, increase the tax burden on every American who drives a car or pays a monthly utility bill and make our nation less competitive versus the rest of the world in the name of a radical ideology.
