It seems that the proposed healthcare reform costs are much higher than originally thought. Senior White House advisor David Axelrod made the rounds on the Sunday talk shows and made it clear that President Obama would be willing to tax families making under $250,000/yr who receive private health plans from their employers. This proposed tax would run contrary to his promise made on the campaign trail.

AFP-Maryland believes that there is more to come on the hidden costs of "healthcare reform." With estimates of anywhere from $1.3 trillion to $3 trillion just to implement some of these proposals, Congress may have to come up with a number of creative ways to pay for this massive bureaucracy. Taxing private insurance plans would be a terrible decision and will assure the destruction of a free market option.
