Americans for Prosperity Foundation Oklahoma would like to thank Governor Brad Henry for his stand against the Federal Communication Commission’s attempt to regulate the internet.
In a press release dated July 3rd, Governor Henry clearly articulated his concerns with the FCC’s push for an internet takeover. AFP-Oklahoma agrees with Governor Henry’s statement that “When it comes to the Internet and broadband regulation, the path Washington chooses will have some profound effects on Americans' ability to connect, compete and innovate.” Stifling regulations will not promote growth and prosperity in private businesses across the state, but will instead hamper business at a time when growth in business should be a main focus.
Governor Henry’s stance against the FCC unprecedented power grab to regulate the internet was bold and should be applauded and supported. Ever increasing Federal regulations need to be questioned, and opposed when necessary. Internet regulation is a clear path to stifling innovation and growth in Oklahoma and the nation.
