Patients First Rallies in Charlottesville to Defend Patients’ Rights, July 18

-Patients First rallies for real health care reform with less interference from Washington bureaucrats-

Congress is starting to reveal details of its government-centered health care reform proposals, and Patients First is giving citizens in Charlottesville a voice to speak out against this Washington takeover at a rally on July, 19th.

“Americans don’t need the government to dictate when and how they receive care,” said Ben Marchi State Director of Americans for Prosperity-Virginia. “Health care legislation being pushed by the liberals in Congress will threaten the sacred relationship between doctor and patient and strip away patients’ rights to choose a plan that best suits them.”

Patients First, a project of Americans for Prosperity, opposes any government intrusion into American health care and supports expanding health insurance options focused on patients.

“We can’t believe it for a second when the president keeps telling us we can all keep the health care plans we currently have,” Marchi added. “All the proposals directly conflict with that idea.”

Activists can sign the Hands Off My Health Care online petition, www.joinpatientsfirst.com, which urges lawmakers to oppose any legislation that imposes greater government control over health care and results in less choice for patients.

The event is free and open to the public. Food will be served. Similar town halls were held in Chesapeake, Williamsburg and Richmond in the past month. Next, Patients First will hit the road on a week long bus tour of Virginia visiting more than two dozen localities throughout the state.
