North Carolina Bus Tour To Focus on Putting Patients First in Health Care Debate

Tour Will Encourage Citizens to Support Free Market Health Care Solutions

Tour Begins Sunday in Raleigh, Continues All Week

Bus to meet activists in cities and towns all over North Carolina as Patients First tour urges constituent action against a government takeover of health care

As members of the North Carolina Congressional Delegation travel to their home districts over the legislative recess to hear from their constituents, Americans for Prosperity’s Patients First Bus Tour will hit the road, too. The tour will urge grassroots activists to speak out on behalf of patients and against a government takeover of health care.

“Americans are fired up about health care, and the bus tour gives more people the opportunity to come out and get involved,” said Dallas Woodhouse, state director of Americans for Prosperity and Patients First effort. “They’ve heard enough proposals from Washington that give government all the decision-making power. It is time for citizens to tell their legislators to stop, turn around, and pursue real reforms that put patients first.”

The Tour will begin with an open house in Raleigh on Sunday August 2nd and will end on Saturday August 8th. Over 30 stops are scheduled. The tour will include grassroots activists, medical professionals, local officials, doctors and patients.

Citizens will be urged to call their senators, visit their district offices, and sign the Patients First petition. The petition asks all members of Congress to oppose any legislation that imposes greater government control over health care and results in fewer choices for patients and their families. It can be viewed at www.JoinPatientsFirst.com.

“These proposals would change everything about health care as we know it. Instead of patients and doctors making decisions, it would be government bureaucrats,” said Woodhouse. “We’ve got to let lawmakers know that the American people simply don’t want a government takeover of their health care.”

People who cannot attend an event are encouraged to sign the petition at www.JoinPatientsFirst.com
