Missouri No Climate Tax Pledge Signers Advance to General Election

- Free market group recognizes numerous candidates for tax stance -

WASHINGTON, DC—The free market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today applauded several Missouri No Climate Tax pledge signers for their primary victories and for advancing to the November general election.

More than 600 bipartisan lawmakers and candidates on the federal, state and local levels have pledged to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”

“The one thing elected officials should all agree on is that global warming shouldn’t be used as an excuse to hike taxes,” said AFP Vice President for Policy Phil Kerpen. “We encourage all Missouri elected officials and candidates for office to sign the pledge.”

The following No Climate Tax pledge signers will be on the November ballot:

  • U.S. Senate nominee Roy Blunt
  • U.S. Representative Todd Akin (2nd District)
  • U.S. Representative Sam Graves (6th District)
  • U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (8th District)
  • U.S. Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer (9th District)
  • U.S. House nominee Ed Martin (3rd District)
  • U.S. House nominee Vicky Hartzler (4th District)
  • U.S. House nominee Billy Long (7th District)
  • Missouri signers also include Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder, Seven State Senators and Forty State Representatives
