100 Constituents Show Up to Deliver Their Message to Congressman Skelton

Approximately 100 people showed up in Jefferson City to express their concerns about the government run healthcare proposal being discussed in Washington to Congressman Skelton. While Congressman Skelton does not hold town hall meetings, we were able to video statements from his constituents and we will be sending them to him.

The media pointed out the fact that Congressman Skelton has not held a town hall meeting since he has been elected, "is it fair to vilify him for not holding one on this issue?" Short answer is: YES.

The proposal being pushed and supported by President Obama and his leaders will result in the government takeover of 1/6th of the nations economy and impact the quality of healthcare of all Americans. Every elected official should be open to hearing from their constituents!

Thanks to all who took the time to attend and for those who let their positions be known through e-mails and calls.

We had a number of media reports including radio interviews and one with the Washington Post. Here are a few of the media reports on the event:

KCRG Report is fair with the exception that it incorrectly reports that AFP has ties to the insurance industry. This is false. The insurance companies support individual mandates and other portions of the bill AFP opposes.)
