As the political climate changes at a rapid pace in Congress and in the mainstream media, grassroots activists can keep their fellow citizens informed on the issue positions of local politicians with AFP’s At-Home Freedom Phone Bank. Starting Wednesday, Sept. 8, AFP’s 1.5 million activists will be encouraged to “phone for freedom,” calling citizens about big government policies and the politicians who support them.
“With our At-Home Freedom Phone effort, Americans for Prosperity activists and tea party friends will be calling their fellow citizens in key areas of the country from the comfort of their own homes using our database and website,” said President of Americans for Prosperity Tim Phillips. “Personal grassroots touch is no longer limited to just talking to your neighbors when talking about important issues being discussed in Congress.”
The At-Home Freedom Phone Bank is part of AFP’s November Is Coming grassroots effort to put pressure on politicians to oppose big government programs or any other freedom-killing policies.
In addition to the Freedom Phone Bank, the initiative asks citizens to engage in door-to-door education, be a neighborhood leader, and sign a petition at www.NovemberIsComing.com telling policymakers, elected officials, and candidates that if they support big government policies, petition-signers will remember in November.
Dear Policymakers, Elected Officials, and Candidates: You know that November is coming and voters care about the issues. Left-wing policies continue to drive Obama’s agenda for even bigger government. We want you to oppose big government programs or any other freedom-killing policies or we will remember in November.
“The public needs to know about politicians’ past support for devastating policies like failed big government stimulus plans or the cap-and-trade energy tax, a piece of legislation designed to regulate our lives and limit our freedoms. That’s why we’ve asked folks to get involved and make these phone calls so they can let their politicians know they have had enough of these reckless policies,” said Phillips.
