2009 GA Radio Personality of the Year Resigns from WGKA Radio To Work With Americans For Prosperity Foundation

Radio personality Joel Aaron resigned his position on Thursday as both on-air personality and host of Sound Bytes and the former host of WGKA’s “Morning in Atlanta,” to assume a position as state grassroots coordinator with the grassroots free-market group Americans for Prosperity Foundation.

“We are delighted to have Joel come on board to work with our membership throughout Georgia,” said Virginia Galloway, Georgia Director of Americans for Prosperity Foundation. “Through joint efforts, we have already noted his ability to connect with our people in training situations and convey our organizational ideals of smaller government, less spending, and lower taxes.”

During his time at Salem Communications and WGKA-AM 920, Joel pioneered new ground in radio as the creator of The Hub Radio Show - America's First Competition Talk Show, a political issues talk program geared toward an audience of young professionals. The show was covered in Radio and Records Magazine, Talkers Magazine, the AJC, Al Peterson's News-Talk-Sports newsletter and several other outlets.

In 2008, Joel began hosting local talk Monday through Friday as host of “Morning in Atlanta” where he introduced "The Nation's First Listener Supplied Morning Radio Team," the "Atlanta Town Hall Panel." In early 2009, Joel became host of the mini-monologue program "Sound Bytes." He also has taken a prominent role as part of the nationwide tea party movement launching the “We The People REVOLUTION” and the Next Step Training seminar series.

This week, Joel begins a whirlwind start as the State Director of the GA March on DC Caravan through a 13-district coordinated effort sending concerned Georgia citizens to DC. On Monday, he began as one of two headliners at the Labor Day Tea Party in Douglasville and will be at several other local appearances this week as the organizer of three Rendezvous Caravan Rallies from Georgia to Washington. He will then be one of the few featured speakers from Georgia on the National Mall as a part of the 9-12 March on Washington on Saturday, September 12th.
