Last Friday the 2009 legislative session ended, with the Assembly and Senate sending Governor Schwarzenegger 292 bills last week, just ahead of the constitutional deadline. This year alone, over 1,900 bills, resolutions and constitutional amendments have been introduced in the Assembly; over 1,100 in the Senate.
Bills sent to the Governor last week included a new California Blueberry Commission (AB 606), a ban on novelty lighters (AB 625) and host of new regulations on businesses. Now the Governor has until October 10th to sign or veto the hundreds of bills.
