Over the weekend the Salisbury Daily Times printed my op/ed expounding on the advantages of free market health care solutions versus the government-run program being pushed by liberals in Congress. This was a response to a piece published a few days earlier by Vincent DeMarco, a lobbyist representing a group calling themselves "Maryland Health Care For All!" (how ironic is it that HR 3200 does not even cover all Americans, right?). You can CLICK HERE to read the entire Op/Ed.

DeMarco's plan, sponsored by groups like ACORN and Casa de Maryland, calls for more taxes, more mandates, and bigger government. It also does NOTHING to solve the problem of rising costs and personal responsibility. That is why we are winning this debate.

Gallup released a poll this week that showed an overwhelming majority of Americans believe that health care is not the responsibility of the government, but up to each individual. In the end, the liberals cannot get around this fact. Mr. DeMarco will try his best to put together proposals that do nothing more than redistribute income. The public is too smart, and I believe that Congress will not go down that path.
