Last week Senator Ben Nelson made a caveat to voters in western Nebraska, telling a crowd at a town hall in Scottsbluff that he would like to see 65 Senators vote for any health care reform bill before it received his support. http://www.journalstar.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_013f0dc6...
While Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska supports bipartisan solutions to help make our health care system more patient-centered, it is wrong of Senator Nelson to predicate his support on the number of Senators instead of what ideas make the most sense.
Tell Senator Nelson that the best ideas, not Washington political games, should win his support.
AFP-Nebraska supports the idea that all Americans deserve the right to make all your own health care choices – and those choices should never be limited by government bureaucrats. We want reforms that put patients first.
• Health Saving Accounts would make individual management of health care a reality
• Tort reform will bring down the costs of expensive insurance for physicians, which will drive down the cost of health care
• Break down the artificial lines between states, so that health insurance can truly be competitive
• YOU should have the right to choose the doctor that is best for you.
• YOU should have the right to choose who can see and keep your personal health information.
• YOU should have the right to choose what care is needed and best for your family.
• YOU should NOT be forced into a “one-size–fits-all” government-controlled health insurance system
Contact Senator Nelson and ask him to oppose any bill that expands the size and scope of government, which grows the deficit, and increases the cost of health care. That is why we oppose HR 3200 and the current Baucus health care bill in the Senate.
