Do you remember when President Obama appeared to entertain the idea of tort reform? He was addressing Congress recently and said he had talked to some doctors who said malpractice insurance was too high and keeping some doctors from high risk practices like delivering babies. Obama recommend some pilot projects in the states.

Earth to Obama: It's been done!

To the chagrin of ambulance-chasing personal injury trial lawyers, Texas enacted tort reform. Thanks to the doctors savings on medical malpractice - hospitals have expanded their charity care by 24%. Doctors who had left high risk specialties are back practicing. and almost 1/2 million more Texans have health insurance.

Moreover, Texas is a beacon of fiscal responsibility in the U.S.

We have a $9 billion budget surplus when other states are in the red, we have created more jobs than any other state -- 70% of the new jobs created in the U.S. last year were in Texas. We have more Fortune 500 Companies in Texas, and are the top state for business relocation. We are the fastest growing state - everyone wants to be a Texan!

Washington could learn from Texas. We've provided President Obama with Gov. Perry's phone number and the Governor is ready to help advise Obama on how to grow jobs and hold down spending.
