MSNBC's ratings are in the tank so little damage was done today when pup reporter/host David Shuster reported there was a tea party like protest going on in front of Sidwell School today. If you are not familiar, Sidwell School is where the Obama children attend.
Shuster, in true MSNBC fashion - no facts - no basis, claimed that it was shameful for tea partiers to protest the school where the Obama children attended. Problem with his rant was there were no tea partiers involved. It was a crack pot group that goes around the country protesting military funerals from the Westboro Baptist Church.
Shuster, in true MSNBC fashion - no facts - no basis, continued to claim that since the tea partiers did not condemn these people for the protests, then they accepted them. Problem is, there isn't a true "organization" for the tea party which would make such a declaration of condemnation. Even if there was, as despicable as the Westboro group is, why would the tea party folks even address it since there is no connection.
Personally, I do think the Westboro group is despicable being on the same level as the "good" folks at MSNBC like Shuster, Olberman, Maddow et al who misconstrue, misrepresent or frankly outright lie about those they oppose. I'm sorry we have either group to contend with these days.
