Losing Can Make You Crazy

There are few groups in America who are worse losers then Leftists. Because they have such a self-important sense of entitlement to having their ideas implemented, when they lose on an issue, they also tend to lose their minds.

There has been ample evidence of this nationally and in Oregon in recent days. The House of Representatives passed the greatest expansion of government control over the personal lives of Americans since the 1960s last Saturday. But because the bill included a prohibition on federal funding of abortions (which, ironically, was already the law), pro-choice groups freaked out and threatened that heads would roll (the heads of their own supporters, apparently) if the funding was not put back in.

In Oregon, AFP was successful in bringing to the ballot and then passing a "no tax or fee increase without a vote" measure in the City of Estacada. This caused the Mayor and a local resident to freak out as well. The Mayor accused the Chief Petitioner of "harboring hate in her heart" - as though anyone can know such a thing - what arrogance!. One local resident who had signed the petition to place the measure before voters wrote a letter to the editor accusing anyone who pointed out that she had signed the petition of being "deceptive."

Losing is always tough, especially when you view winning as some kind of birthright. But one's reaction to losing also reveals character - or lack of it.
