Keep Up the Pressure

We have seen incredible support from grassroots activists like you to oppose a government-run health care plan. Thanks to your efforts, all three Nebraska Members of the House of Representatives; Reps. Jeff Fortenberry, Adrian Smith and Lee Terry voted against the government take over of health care.

Now all eyes are on the Senate, where both Senators Mike Johanns and Ben Nelson have indicated their opposition to a government-run health care program. Senator Nelson says he won’t vote for a “bad bill”-- read the CBS News article by clicking here.

While voting against a government option is important, the most important vote is on cloture, the legislative tactic liberals in the Senate will use to close debate and ram this bill through Congress. It takes 60 Senators to pass a cloture motion.

We cannot stress enough how critical Senator Nelson’s vote to oppose cloture is. Please, take a moment today to contact the Senator’s office and let him know a vote for cloture is the same as voting for the bill.

Sen. Nelson’s office can be reached by emailing senator@bennelson.senate.gov or calling:
