Sen. Nelson, You Said This Was a Bad Bill

As you know, this week Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced a 2,074 page health care reform bill. Legislation Senator Nelson characterized as a ‘bad bill’ during an ABC News interview that you can watch by clicking here. Yet this week, Senator Nelson has indicated he is willing to work with Democratic Leadership to bring this ‘bad bill’ to the Senate floor.

Many Nebraskans wonder why the bill is so large, the answer is simple, it takes a lot of pages to explain the new Individual Mandate tax, Employer Mandate Tax, the Excise Tax on Charitable Hospitals, and over a dozen new taxes, not to mention the billions of dollars in cuts to Medicare, the new regulations on individuals and small business and the growth of the federal bureaucracy to manage the new government program.

Senator Nelson was right to call this a bad bill. The question Nebraskans must ask the Senator is ‘what’s changed?’

Will you take a moment to contact Senator Nelson’s office today? Let him know you not only oppose this government-run health care plan, but you do not want to see this plan reach the Senate floor. Tell Senator Nelson you are watching ALL of his votes.
