To kick off the fight to record subcommittee votes in the House of Delegates, members from AFP-VA attended the Republican Party of Virginia's annual Advance in Hot Springs, Virginia. Having recorded subcommittee votes is necessary for a transparent accountable government. Currently, bills are killed in subcommittees and the legislators that voted them down cannot be held accountable for their votes.

On December 5-6th, AFP-VA members asked Republican activists at the Advance to sign a petition to the House of Delegates saying that recorded subcommittee votes were needed this session. Our efforts were met with enthusiasm and we had many Republican officials sign the petition.
