NEW HAMPSHIRE FAMILIES HAVE HAD ENOUGH GOVERNMENT BAILOUTS

Americans for Prosperity Establishes website to stop the NEXT bailout

WINDHAM, NEW HAMPSHIRE— Americans for Prosperity, a grassroots free market group, today launched a website (www.stopthebailoutnh.com) calling on all hard working New Hampshire families to sign a petition telling their federal elected officials we cannot afford another government bailout.

“With the citizens of New Hampshire working harder than ever to survive in these tough economic times, it’s not right to spend our tax dollars to bail out yet another industry,” said Corey R. Lewandowski, New Hampshire Director for Americans For Prosperity. “It’s not fair to burden our children and our children’s children due to corporate greed and mismanagement,” Lewandowski continued.

The proposed auto bailout bill pending in Congress is the next in a long line of government subsidies to the private sector. The $15 billion bill sends the message that if you can’t run your business successfully; the government will step in and bail you out.

Recent online petitions have secured in excess of 40,000 signatures. Americans for Prosperity will be running week long banner advertisements on a number of local newspaper’s websites encouraging people to sign the petition.

Regardless of the outcome of the auto bailout bill, elected officials need to hear from their constituents and understand that hard working citizens do not want their tax dollars spent without their consent to bailout more millionaires.
