This dinner is being held to honor Americas newest naturalized citizens and those that are giving back to our State and Country. Two awards will be presented at this event, and applications for these awards will be accepted through the 15th of January 2012.

The "Nevadan by Choice" award is going to be presented by CORE, the Congress of Racial Equality, to outstanding individuals that have made a significant sacrifice and contribution to their adopted home of Nevada. These individuals have overcome great challenges to become a resident of Nevada and they are continuing to serve their community as outstanding examples of individual determination and self-reliance. Through their endeavor to reside in and serve Nevada, they represent the epitome of patriotism.

The "Defender of the Constitution" award is presented by The Americans for Prosperity Foundation - Nevada, to individuals in our community that have gone above and beyond to ensure that the principles set forth in the Constitution of the United States of America are passed on to our next generation of Americans. This award honors individuals who work to continue educating our youth on these ironclad principles ensuring the continuation of these ideals, from generation to generation.
