Union Card Check: House Vote
The Employee Free Choice Act had 228 co-sponsors last Congress, including 226 Democrats and 2 Republicans. The Republicans are Reps. Chris Smith and Frank LoBiondo, both from New Jersey. When it last came up for a vote, it passed the House 241-185 on March 1, 2007. Given strong Republican opposition it is clear that the 2010 midterm election was a repudiation of EFCA, which could no longer pass the House.
