Americans for Prosperity to Bring Hundreds of Grassroots Taxpayers to Madison to Rally for “No Tax Hike” Budget

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin chapter of the free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) will bring hundreds of flag- and sign-waving taxpayers to Madison on October 17 to rally against hiking Wisconsin’s taxes even higher.

Governor Doyle and his allies in the legislature should heed Wisconsin citizens who generally support a “no tax hike” budget, the group says. “Governor Doyle needs to stop playing political games in order to ram through tax hikes and start seeking real solutions for Wisconsin’s budget crunch,” said AFP Wisconsin Director Mark Block. “We’re bringing hundreds of citizens to the capital as a potent reminder that lawmakers need to abandon tax hikes and embrace spending reforms.”

Citizens will arrive on buses from around the state and will hear from conservative talk radio hosts, bloggers, AFP President Tim Phillips, and AFP Wisconsin Director Mark Block.
