KALAMAZOO – Even as Michigan’s jobless numbers continue to climb and the state deficit deepens, the free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) will bring its statewide “Taxpayer Trust Tour” to Kalamazoo on Friday, February 16, at 7:15 a.m. Wall Street Journal editorial board member Steve Moore will be among the featured panelists at the Kalamazoo stop of the Taxpayer Trust Tour, a 14-city series of roundtable discussions to educate citizens on the fiscal challenges the state faces and policy options that will help move Michigan in a more positive economic direction.
The Kalamazoo roundtable discussion will feature brief presentations by panelists and an opportunity for question and answer with both citizens and the media. Among the questions panelists will seek to answer are: “What are Michigan’s challenges and options?” and “Are tax increases the only way forward?” Panelists will specifically address the issues surrounding the slated repeal of the Single Business Tax.
