OKLAHOMA CITY – The grassroots free-market group Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) is pleased to announce Lt. Col. Stuart A. Jolly (retired) as the AFPF Oklahoma State Director. Lt. Col. Jolly, who assumed his new role on December 1, 2006, will be responsible for leading the Oklahoma state chapter of Americans for Prosperity Foundation. Prior to joining AFPF Lt. Col. Jolly worked at the University of Central Oklahoma as the Professor of Military Science.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Stuart Jolly join us in our efforts to ease the burden of big government on citizens,” Americans for Prosperity Foundation President Tim Phillips said. “Stuart’s demonstrated dedication to our country coupled with his superb leadership skills will make him an outstanding advocate for Oklahoma taxpayers. Stuart will raise the concerns of Oklahoma taxpayers to a new level of prominence on the list of legislative priorities.”
“I am honored to have joined an organization with such a noble dedication to protecting the rights of taxpayers in the state of Oklahoma,” commented Lt. Col. Jolly. “My entire career has been dedicated to ensuring America’s freedom, and I’m thrilled to be able to continue in that dedication by proactively defending citizens’ economic freedom.”
Before joining the AFPF team, Lt. Col. Jolly enjoyed an impressive and diverse career with the United States Army. During the Persian Gulf War, he was a Blackhawk Platoon Leader in the 101st Airborne Division, and as result of his service there, he earned the Bronze Star and two Air Medals. His service has also included one stint as a Company Commander in Germany and another as a Foreign Area Officer in the Defense Attaché Office at the U.S. Embassy to Belgium.
Lt. Col. Jolly spent a short time working as a Pharmaceutical Representative with Novartis in Sacramento, Calif., before returning to the military as a battalion’s Executive Officer at East Carolina University. In July of 2003, Lt. Col. Jolly was reassigned to the University of Central Oklahoma where he has been serving as the Professor of Military Science. Lt. Col. Jolly holds degrees from The Citadel (B.A.-Political Science) and East Carolina University (M.A.-International Studies and Business). He is married to the former Marcia L. Greer of Fort Valley, Georgia, and has been blessed with two daughters and a son.
