blockquote>PHOENIX--A prominent business advocacy group has withdrawn its endorsement of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's proposal for a temporary sales tax increase to help balance the state budget.
The Arizona Tax Research Association said Monday it dropped its support partly because Brewer vetoed some spending cuts that she said would devastate vital services.

Even it that were to happen, the governor has acknowledged it would not help with the state's current fiscal shortfall. A tax increase that does not help the situation makes no sense.
