 AFP – Ohio Statement on Dann Resignation 

Columbus--Jack Boyle, State Director of Americans for Prosperity-Ohio, today released the following statement on the resignation of Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann:

"Today’s resignation allows the citizens and legislative leadership of the State of Ohio to begin the process of restoring integrity to the Office of Attorney General.

"Marc Dann failed to understand his fundamental accountability to the people of Ohio.  This is evidenced not only by his behavior and that of his staff, but also by the pay-to-play culture he encouraged by rewarding personal injury lawyers who contributed to his campaign with state legal contracts.

"Ohio policymakers should consider reforms similar to those enacted in Texas, Colorado, Virginia and elsewhere that can end these abuses by making the Ohio Attorney General’s procurement process comply with state competitive bidding practices.
