Three more North Carolina legislators have signed AFP’s NoClimateTax.com pledge, which states that they will “oppose any legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”

State Senator and Deputy Republican Leader Neal Hunt (15th District), State Senator David Rouzer (12th District) and State Representative Efton Sager (11th District) joined the ranks of signers over the weekend.

-Signs No Climate Tax Pledge-

RALEIGH-The North Carolina chapter of the grassroots free-market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP-NC) today applauded North Carolina State Representative Mark Hilton (96th District) for signing the group’s “No Climate Tax Pledge.” By doing so, Hilton joins over 160 lawmakers on the federal, state and local levels pledging to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”

The free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today brought its nationwide hot air balloon to North Carolina to draw attention to climate change policies that would hike energy costs. Even as record gas prices and high food costs put a squeeze on household budgets, lawmakers are pushing global warming policies that are out of touch with average Americans, the group says.

The taxpayer watchdog group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) will call attention to the "hot air" and hypocrisy in the global warming debate by flying a six-story-tall hot air balloon over former N.C. Senator John Edwards' massive Chapel Hill estate.
