There's good news and bad news from Detroit this week.

The good news, according to this blog, is that greens and automakers, after decades of being at loggerheads, now seem to be singing from the same sheet music on the need to produce environmentally-friendly cars like the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf. The shaming, badgering and blunt-force bludgeoning of automakers by Gang Green and government regulators finally has bent Motown to the will of the efficiency enforcers. Now these former adversaries are as cozy as two peas in a pod.

And the bad news?

The Washington, D.C., Police Department this week vowed to actually begin enforcing the law, including laws against assault, menacing and disturbing the peace – but only after Occupy Washington goons roughed-up AFP supporters attending a Ronald Reagan tribute dinner on Friday evening. The dinner was part of AFP’s “Defending the American Dream Summit.”

Just can't attend AFP's Defending the American Dream Summit this weekend in Washington, D.C.? We'll miss you not being there in person -- and shame on you for skipping this one -- but you can still enjoy much of the action, the excitement and the speakers, all without even leaving home.

How is that possible? It's the age of the Internet, baby. Almost anything is possible (at least until the federal government gets involved). The AFP Foundation will kindly be providing live streaming video of the summit, from the kick-off at 11 a.m. tomorrow to the end of the event at 5 p.m. Saturday.
