Senator Jim DeMint is proposing elimination of CONGRESSIONAL EARMARKS.
He's on our side and is working for the working man.  These are the
pork-barrel earmarks that Sen Coburn rails against and Sen DeMint from
SC is a friend.

The original budget bill contained $17,000,000,000 in earmarks. With a
population of 300,000,000, this comes to over $56 per person, or $113
per family of two, or $226 per family of four.  Thank goodness, the
entire budget bill was defeated; maybe the revised budget bill will have
considerably fewer earmarks.  (from

Senator DeMint has opened a web site, www.100000strong.com, seeking
nationwide support by earmark opponents.  He's looking for 100,000
citizens to sign up to support his fight against earmarks. This site has
a four line questionnaire - First Name, Last Name, Email, & ZIP * plus a
SUBMIT button - for one to show support.

Here's one way all of us, even in Oklahoma, can get involved and show
our legislators that we demand reform. 

Maybe Senator DeMint will have close to a million supporters sign on.  I
sure hope so.
